Wycombians

Summer

Were you at the first Wycombians meeting last November? Over 100 people crowded into the Brunel Shed to share our ambitions for the town.

In that meeting, there was a real sense that Wycombians is what our town needs. We are fed up with the doomsterism and downbeatery! We want to stand up for our town, feel empowered and help make High Wycombe an even better place to live in.

And what do you need to make you feel great about where you live? Community. Friends. Neighbours. And the feeling of working together for important and positive change.

So, who are Wycombians? We’re people who live in High Wycombe who want to build that sense of community that unites us all. Every culture, every faith or none, every political stance, male or female, old or young, any part of town – you get the picture. We are open, transparent and inclusive. Everyone is welcome.

Who are the ‘we’ who are trying to get this started? Just a small group of people who have come together, and we’d love you to join us!

Our next activities will be all about building community across the town and doing good things together. Be a positive energy of togetherness in a world that feels divided. Discuss what we’d like to change in the town, and work with the powers that be to see if we can make it happen. Be aware of, and spread the word about, events and initiatives that support and enhance our town, such as environmental and creative projects, charities and festivals. And have fun, make new friends and enjoy ourselves!

Feel this is just up your street? Want to join in? Drop us an email to wycombians@gmail.com or follow us on socials. We’ll let you know when the next event will be held and see you there!

PS A special request

If you like receiving and reading this magazine, High Wycombe Life, it sits exactly within the space we embrace - promoting our town as a special place where Creativity meets Opportunity. Could you be part of the magazine team? We are looking for volunteers to each distribute around 100 magazines to their neighbours on roads near home or work. If you’d like to help and to join the team, please email hello@hwlife.co.uk.

Thanks to Julia Libera for our new blue Wycombians logo.
