Exciting progress is underway on Hughenden Boulevard as the Disraeli Ward Partnership launched Phase 1 of an ambitious project to transform a much-loved local walking route.
Working in partnership with Hughenden Gardens Village, the Royal Star & Garter and Chiltern Rangers, the initiative is breathing new life into a public footpath and the adjoining stretch of the River Wye. The aim is to create a welcoming, nature rich space that residents of all ages can enjoy, including those in the neighbouring care home, retirement and student villages.
The project officially got started on 2nd February, with the first volunteer session led by Chiltern Rangers. Local residents, alongside pupils from Disraeli School, rolled up their sleeves to clear overgrown vegetation and improve the riverside path connecting Hughenden Avenue and Hughenden Boulevard to begin shaping a greener, more inviting environment. On 19th February Chiltern Rangers were again joined by volunteers and students doing their Duke of Edinburgh awards to cut back the vegetation along the Hughenden Boulevard Highway. Their energy and enthusiasm have already made a visible difference and set the tone for what’s to come.
Looking ahead, plans are already in place for Phase 2, which will introduce new seating along the walking route. These will provide accessible places to pause, relax, and connect with others, helping to make the space even more inclusive and enjoyable.
This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations and the community come together. As the project continues, Hughenden Boulevard is set to become a vibrant local asset, encouraging wellbeing, community pride, and a stronger connection to nature.

Community Activity Days bring together a range of local services and partners to offer local residents the chance to connect with the community, access useful local information and enjoy free family-friendly fun. Each session offers a blend of practical advice and stalls, alongside bouncy castles, face painting and other family-friendly activities.
