Our annual Volunteer Thank You event
Our incredible volunteers joined us recently for our annual Volunteer Thank You event – a much-loved opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate the people who give their time, insight and passion to help shape Red Kite.
This year’s event had a wonderfully whimsical Mad Hatter’s Tea Party theme, and the room was filled with colour, laughter and conversation as soon as guests arrived. Tables were dressed for the occasion, setting the scene for an afternoon that felt special, relaxed and most importantly, all about our volunteers.
Attendees were treated to a gorgeous selection of food, including freshly prepared sandwiches, hot dishes and a tempting spread of cakes that proved hard to resist.
Over cups of tea and plenty of chatter, volunteers caught up with one another and with colleagues, sharing stories about the past year and the many ways they’ve been involved across our organisation and communities.
Of course, no tea party would be complete without a bit of fun, and a lively game of bingo quickly became a highlight of the afternoon, sparking friendly competition and plenty of smiles around the room.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the presentation of our Long Service Awards. These awards recognise volunteers who have given their time and commitment over many years, and it was a proud moment to acknowledge their dedication and the lasting impact they’ve made. Their contributions have helped shape services, strengthen our communities and ensure that tenant voices remain at the heart of what we do.
Reflecting on the day, Sophie Field, Head of Resident and Community Engagement, said: “Events like this are our chance to say a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers. The time, energy and lived experience they share makes such a difference to Red Kite. It was wonderful to see so many people together, being recognised and celebrated for the positive impact they have on our communities.”
